Who can participate?

The program is for researchers at the University of Concepción to accelerate ventures based on UdeC-owned research results.

Requirements

Applicant

The applicant must be a full-time researcher on an indefinite contract at the University of Concepción. The applicant must also be developing a product and/or service and have at least one component validated and/or available in a laboratory setting, with the intention of transferring the R&D results by creating a university spin-off.

Availability

Approximately 10 hours per week should be dedicated to training. Therefore, it is expressly requested that you do not apply (to avoid taking a spot) if you cannot commit to this. 10 horas semanales para el entrenamiento. Por lo que se pide expresamente no postular (para evitar restar un cupo) en caso de no poder comprometerse a esta dedicación.

Teams

There is no maximum number of members per team; however, each member can participate in only one application.In addition, the teams must be represented by a researcher from the University of Concepción. The participation of teams with members from other institutions will be accepted as long as at least 1 member has an indefinite, full-time contract at the University of Concepción.

Representation

Each team will be represented by 1 UdeC researcher, who will serve as the primary point of contact for the Program's Organizing Committee. Only in exceptional cases will the representation by a non-UdeC researcher be evaluated.

Types of projects expected

The projects expected to be selected must have a technological readiness level (TRL) of 4 or higher, according to the International Technology Readiness Level scale, Technology Readiness Levelwhich measures the readiness of research results. In other words, the proposed project must have developed an experimental pilot.

Applications that are at the stage of ideation, basic research, or formulation of the technology will not be accepted (TRL 1, TRL 2, or TRL 3)

The teams that advance to the second stage of training or to the negotiation of the license agreement will be determined depending on the evaluation results.

Stage 2

Intensive training in Science Lean Canvas.

Workshops and activities for 6 week. This stage ends with a DEMODAYs.

The teams that advance to negotiate the license agreement will be determined depending on the evaluation results.

Stage 3

The teams that have made progress in signing the license agreement will go directly to an incubation program designed for them by the IncubaUdeC entrepreneurship support platform.
